Day 3 was our last big day in the city. We had big plans for the afternoon so we needed to jam in the last little bit we could into the morning. We left our hotel and walked down towards Rockefeller Center. We stopped to take a picture at Radio City Music Hall.
We didn't have time to do both so we decided to go to the Top of The Rock instead of the Empire State building. Which I'm glad we did since it was closer to where we were anyway. We paid to go all the way to the top. It's pretty cool that you can see just about everything in the city from the observation deck. It was really cool to see just how square central park is. It's just perfectly cut out of all the buildings and madness.
There was a great view of the Empire State Building from Top of The Rock. Erick had to stick his arm thru the glass to get an unobstructed shot, I was a little afraid he was going to lose the camera.
We then went down to Rockefeller Center to see all the sites.
After we were done we headed up 5th Avenue to try to find the NBA store...sadly it was closed for remodelling. Erick was bummed. We did, however, find H&M! I refrained from clothing purchases but bought a super cute leopard print woven beach bag for vacay this summer. We stopped by the Cathedral, it was under construction, but the architecture was so beautiful.
Our big splurge was on Lion King tickets. I wanted to see a Broadway show while we were in NYC. Erick had already seen Lion King when he was a teenager so it was hard to convince him he needed to see it again, but I bribed him with a good dinner ;) It was AMAZING!!! The costumes are outrageous. I am sure I sat through the whole thing with my eyes as wide as plates.
This was the dinner I promised. I didn't get a picture of us in the restaurant because it was kinda ritzy and I was SUPER under dressed so I felt awkward just whipping out my camera for a touristy photo-op. Erick loves Brazilian Churrascaria. I know they made money off of me because I ate very little but Erick made up for it. It was delicious though.
