Day #2 we planned on hitting Battery Park and Downtown. We WERE going to take it easier then the day before. "WERE" being the operative word.
So we started by taking the subway down to Battery Park.

We walked down to a place we could get a picture of the Statue of Liberty. We went to see about taking the boat out but I decided I didn't think I could stomach the waves...luckily we decided against it because the line to get on was wrapped around the park and was over a 2 hour wait.

So we decided a picture from afar was just as good.

We walked up the street to the 9/11 memorial. There was so much hub bub and construction. Everyone that goes there says that it's such a sobering
experience, but I just didn't understand, there was so much construction and cigarette smoke. Maybe we were on the wrong side of the building.

Then we hit up the NYSE. Pretty funny, it's such a small inconspicuous building.

The line to get a picture with the bull was really huge, you just have to stand around and fight all the "non-US" tourists for a spot.

Erick got a wild hair and decided that he wanted to take the Subway all the way out to
Coney Island and get a hot dog. So we just winged it. Luckily we bought a subway map!

Right out of the subway station was Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs, Home of the July4
th Hot Dog Eating Contest.

I wasn't big on the hot dogs, but the french fries were
delish. You can see how excited I was about it all.
Coney Island was pretty dead, it was still the off season. But it was fun to see everything.
We headed back to the hotel. It took us over and hour on the subway to get back to upper Manhattan. It was a very full day!
