37 Weeks - Thursday, December 15th

The week of Graduation was also my 37th week. My doctors appointment this week was on Thursday the 15th. It had been a rough couple of days. I had been having a lot of contractions still, I was getting increasingly more uncomfortable at night to the point where I wasn't sleeping hardly at all. The last 4 hours of work were just excruciating because I would have contraction after contraction. I told Erick the night before my appointment that I didn't think I was going to make it another week at work. My plan was to work until the 23rd which was the Friday before my C-Section on the 27th. Erick and I talked it over and even though we had a plan and our finances planned accordingly we decided it was best if I asked the Dr to write me out of work. It was a little stressful for me to know that that morning I needed to finish up absolutely every thing I needed to at work, and send out emails saying I was starting leave early. My appointment was at 2, so I had about 4 hours to get everything I could done, and not let work know my plan, especially since I had the next day off for Erick's Graduation.
Once we got to the doctor she checked me out and I wasn't dilated STILL but I was still having contractions. I was a little unsure how to ask to be put on disability and it sorta stressed me out. Finally Erick spoke up and told her I was having a hard time sitting at work and was just miserable and right then she said, Well let's take care of that and wrote me a "prescription" for disability effective immediately.  What a relief. I came back home and finished up everything I hadn't done in the beginning of the day and tried really hard to clean up the house at the same time.
Erick's Mom and Brother flew in that evening for Erick's graduation.
Just 2 more weeks until this little girl makes her appearance. Thank heavens I have a week to catch up on all the things I need to before she gets here. I think have laundry to do and a car seat to install and let's not forget Graduation and Erick's parents are visiting until Sunday. Maybe I'll be able to nap a little too!
A few pregnancy constants:

  • Heartburn wakes me up at night. I'm thinking this little one has a heap load of hair. Isn't that the old wives tale?
  • Contractions start about 430PM, get more intense about 11PM and continue until 4AM. I finally fall asleep about 6 or 7 and sleep until 930.
  • My back is pretty much on fire from 8PM-4AM. Erick bought a back massager and I make him massage my back almost nightly. I helps for a little bit. I can't decide if my back is just hurting or if I'm having back labor.
  • My cravings are pretty much the same...Pickles and Mexican food. and I still want what I can't have...Del Taco, El Pollo Loco and Cafe Rio :(
  • By the end of the day my feet and face blow up like crazy at the end of the night. If I don't wear shoes all day there is NO way they are getting in anything, not flip flops or tennis shoes.
  • I'm READY for this to be over
