Our Visit to Nebraska # 2 - Lincoln

Our last stop was Lincoln to visit the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. It rained all the way from Omaha to Lincoln. We got there late afternoon on Saturday. We drove around a little to see the city and look for some houses we saw online. There was a neighborhood just across the street from the Law School campus called Professors Row, they had so really beautiful old houses. We were able to drive through campus and see where everything was. We made a stop off at the University of Nebraska Bookstore. This place was HUGE. It was like 3 times the size of the BYU bookstore and it was ALL UNL paraphernalia. It was ridiculous!! Of course they had to have an obligatory level of actual books. That was way at the top then 2 lower floors of just STUFF. Leather couches with "N"'s embroidered in them. Grill covers, dog football jerseys, you name it, they had it. We bought a few things, but we didn't STOCK UP because we still don't know where we are going....The next day we went to church at the ward that a few of the students had told us about. Everyone was really friendly and there were a bunch of law students there. It was definitely different from our ward in Utah. First it didn't consist of just our street and second they actually noticed that we were visitors, unlike our ward now that even after 2 years still thinks we are new. We stayed just for the first hour because we had an appt with a Realtor to see some properties (***Just in case) We saw a couple of older places, (Cute outside, but old inside) there was one cute townhome, could be a possibility if we decide to go to UNL. Since it was Mother's Day our realtor had only a few hours with us. We drove around and gathered some other places to look at. Monday was our tour at UNL and when we headed home. We met with the Assistant Dean, she told us about all the construction going on. They had been given the contract for the first program for Space and Telecom Law. It sounded so interesting. I told Erick he should look into it. It would be AWESOME, he could round out the family and work at Northrop Grumman with everyone else, ha ha! The law school was really nice, it looked very updated. They have a active law clinic and a huge mock courtroom. After our tour we were told Professor Gardner wanted to meet with us. He is LDS and also one of the main 1st year teachers. He was very nice, reminds us alot of Gary Lindbergh, and he was a Diet Coke drinker!! (the whole school was Pepsi, that was a problem for Erick) We spent a little time with him, he made us feel very welcome and even tried to get us a place to live...whoa buddy, we haven't made our decision yet. We really enjoyed our visit, and off we headed back to Omaha to go home...

Well...we have to make a decision soon......Where should we go?
